Introduction

Google offers a services both free and paid to allow you to make use of Google tools such as Email and Calendars branded with your own domain name. Further details can be found on the Google Apps website:

Things you Should Know

  • For each domain you configured to be hosted with Google ( or any other email service ) for email services, you MUST provide a list of the domains to Site5 Customer Service requesting the domains be added to your servers "remotedomains" file. If you skip this step, you WILL have problems with email delivery from other domains on your server ( or sites hosted with Site5 ) and you may face other similar frustrations as well.
  • Once you switch your email service provider from Site5 to a 3rd party, Site5 can no longer provide you with technical support for email services on that domain. You must contact the provider ( in this case Google ) for assistance if required.
  • When undertaking such a huge leap, you should also consider other email related configuration settings that might need to be adjusted such as SPF records.
